iWriter: Reviews, Pricing, and Alternatives

Businesses are increasingly seeing the benefits of producing engaging, unique, and informative written content as part of their marketing plans.

However, if you don’t have the talent in-house to write the content then your content marketing strategy isn’t going to be very successful. Your best option is to outsource your content writing to a freelance writer or work with a content writing service. One such place to find a content writer is iWriter.com.

iWriter overview

iWriter is a content platform that matches customers who need content written with writers who can produce it for them. To use the platform, you sign up and create an account and you can then list a writing assignment. This process works similar to other freelancer platforms like Upwork and Fiverr.

You fill out an order/ listing form and state the title of your article or blog post, provide instructions for the writer, desired length, keywords you want to be included, and you can choose between your article having a friendly’ or ‘professional’ tone.

Once that information is filled out the last thing you do is select the skill level of the writer you want to use. iWriter assigns every writer on their platform a skill level of either ‘basic, ’premium’, elite’, or ’elite plus’. The higher the rating of the writer the more it will cost you, but you can expect much higher quality writing the higher the rating of the writer.

When you have chosen the rating level of your writer the company then sends that order to every writer within that rating level and the first writer to accept the assignment will write your content for you. Once your assignment has been written you will be sent to review, which you can either accept or reject if you are not happy with it.

iWriter reviews

iWriter reviews on G2.com are good. They currently have a 4.2 out of 5-star overall rating.

iwriter reviews

iWriters have some fairly good feedback from past and current clients.

The high level of customer service and the quality of the content are mentioned a lot in reviews. The only negative feedback is about lower quality writing from lower-rated writers. But as they say, ‘you get what you pay for’.

Features

  • A Large Pool of Writers – on iWriter you have access to tens of thousands of freelancers writers for hire from all over the world to choose from.
  • Rating System – each writer has a rating, so you know how good they are.
  • Fixed Prices – when you submit an assignment you will be given a fixed price so that you know exactly how much it will cost you.
  • Easy to Use Website – the iWriter process to order content is fast and simple.
  • Quick Turnaround – iWriter says they can produce your content quickly.

Pros

  • iWriter says that if you are not happy with your assignment you won’t have to pay for it until you are. You can request edits or simply reject the content outright. This helps to reduce some of the risks associated with using their service.
  • iWriter claims on their website that they turn around your content in as little as 30-minutes for short articles and within a few hours for longer forms of content. This is good if you need content written fast.
  • The company claims to have worked with over 24,000 clients from all over the world which means they are an experienced company with a track record of success. They also claim that many of their writers have worked with them for a long time so if you outsource your content writing to them you are getting access to highly experienced writers.
  • iWriter gives every writer a rating and charges more for higher rated writers. This can take some of the risks out of using a freelancer platform and means you should receive top quality content if you pay for the higher rated writers.
  • The ordering process on iWriter is simple and easy to use. You simply fill out an order form and make a payment and the company takes care of the rest.
  • You can order content from as little as 150 words to 35,000 words in length.

Cons

  • All content is delivered in .txt format, which is basic text and doesn’t include headings, images, etc. This is an issue if you want HTML included in your content as you will have to put it in yourself.
  • Fast turnaround times for content may mean that the quality suffers. If you just need very simple articles written this might be ok but for longer articles, fast turnaround times aren’t really a positive thing.
  • iWriter essentially just matches you up with a writer or team of writers and handles payments. They do not over any editorial oversight or hands-on account management which means you have to be a good writer yourself to know if the content is good or not.
  • The lower-rated writers will produce much lower quality writing which is to be expected as they cost a lot less. But I am not sure why they even let them write for the platform if they aren’t very good as this just means clients will not be happy and complain which adversely affects their company reviews and ratings on platforms like G2.com.

Prices

iWriter charges $1.25 for a 150-word article written by a ‘basic’ author up to $130 for a 2,000-word article that is written by an ‘elite-plus’ writer. This means you are paying between $0.008 and $0.065 per word which is pretty cheap compared to a lot of other options. However, if you want higher quality content then you should pay extra for the higher rated writers.

Final thoughts

iWriter is a simple-to-use content writing platform that will connect you up with quality writers especially if you are prepared to pay for the higher rated writers. They also have very quick turnaround times for producing content which is good if you need content fast, but this might mean that the quality suffers.
