How to cite in IEEE
IEEE style is published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It is used in engineering, computer science and information technology. References are numbered in square brackets in the order you first cite them.

In-text citations
IEEE uses a number in square brackets, such as [1], inside the sentence. Reuse the same number each time you cite that source, and add a page number when needed, such as [1, p. 437].

How do I order an IEEE reference list?
By number, in the order each source is first cited in your text, not alphabetically.
How are author names written in IEEE?
Initials come before the last name, for example Y. LeCun. For seven or more authors, name the first author followed by et al.
Where does the citation number go in the sentence?
Inside the sentence before the full stop, for example as shown in [1]. You can also use the number as a noun, as in [1] shows that.
Do I include DOIs in IEEE?
Yes, when a source has one. IEEE writes it at the end of the reference as doi: 10.xxxx.
