How to cite a press release
A press release citation takes three steps.
Step 1
Paste the release’s link
We fill in the title, date and organization. A page on a newsroom or a wire service is recognized as a press release.
Step 2
Check the organization
The organization that issued the release is its author, not the press officer named at the bottom.
Step 3
Add the wire service if there is one
Released through PR Newswire or Business Wire? Add it under Published by. On the organization’s own site, leave it blank.
How to cite a press release in APA
APA gives the organization, the full date, the title in italics and sentence case, [Press release] and the URL. It leaves out the publisher when it’s the organization itself.

MLA starts with the title when the organization publishes the release itself, and ends with Press release.

Does a press release need an access date?
Not in APA or MLA when it has a date. Harvard always gives one, so the form fills in today’s date.
