Claude
Connect Writing Studio to Claude and ask what's planned and what's ranking, or have it draft and schedule posts. Works with Claude Code too.
Connect Writing Studio to Claude as a custom connector, then ask about your blog in any chat: what's planned this week, which searches you're close to page one for, or to write a post about something. It works on every Writing Studio plan, Free included.

What you need
- Claude on the web, desktop or mobile, on a plan that lets you add custom connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add it for everyone first.
- Your Writing Studio server address:
https://app.writingstudio.com/mcp. It's also in Writing Studio under Settings › Claude and ChatGPT, with a Copy button.
Connect
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector. Name it "Writing Studio" and paste the address.
- Choose Connect, sign in to Writing Studio, and allow access.
Then in a chat, open the tools menu and check Writing Studio is turned on.
What to ask
- "What's planned for my blog this week?"
- "Which searches am I close to page one for? Suggest three posts."
- "Which of my posts are losing traffic?"
- "Write a post about how to choose a coffee grinder and schedule it for Friday."
- "Show me the draft about pricing pages as Markdown."
Claude starts by finding your sites, so with more than one site, say which you mean.
What it can do
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| List sites | Your sites, how often they post, auto-publish and where they publish |
| Get the content plan | What's planned, written, scheduled and published, and why each was planned |
| Get Search Console insights | The last 28 days: clicks, impressions, searches close to page one, questions people ask and posts losing clicks |
| Draft an article | Adds a topic and writes it. It uses one of the month's articles, and says how many are left |
| Schedule an article | Sets its date, and can approve it to go out on that date |
| Get an article | An article as Markdown or HTML, with its title on Google, description and sources |
Drafts are written the same way as in the app, in about 10 minutes; they show up in Writing Studio for review. Approving a post to publish to your website needs a paid plan.
Claude Code and other tools
Tools that can't sign in by themselves, like Claude Code, Cursor or your own scripts, use a personal token:
- In Writing Studio, open Settings › Claude and ChatGPT and under Personal access tokens give the token a name.
- Choose what it can do: Read only, Can draft (uses the month's articles) or Can publish (can also approve posts to publish).
- Choose Create token and copy it. It's shown once.
In Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http writing-studio https://app.writingstudio.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ws_your_token"
Other tools take the same address and header; Writing Studio shows a ready-made config when you create the token. Tokens last a year, and you can have up to 10. Give each only what it needs: a read-only token can't spend your articles or publish anything.
Disconnect
- Claude: in Settings › Connectors, open Writing Studio and remove it.
- A token: in Writing Studio, Settings › Claude and ChatGPT, delete it. Anything using it stops working straight away.
Connecting by signing in gives Claude the same access as you, including approving posts to publish. For less, use a read-only or draft-only token.
